In order to promote the sport of shooting in Korea and to financially sponsor our nation’s promising athletes, Hanwha Galleria founded the Galleria Shooting Team in February 2001 in Daejeon. The team has been raising Korea’s prestige, as a world contender in the sport of shooting by winning competitions in such major international events as the Olympic Games and World Championships. Consisting of outstanding athletes, such as Gang Cho-hyeon, the Sydney 2000 Olympics silver medalist, the Hanwha Galleria Shooting Team is an elite, Olympic award-winning shooting team proudly representing the Republic of Korea.
The Galleria Equestrian Team was founded for the purpose of promoting one of high-society’s most prestigious sports, horse riding, which along with the Galleria Shooting Team provides a meaningful contribution to the nation through the development of our domestic sports industry. Following a stunning win at the 2006 Doha Asian Games, the Galleria Equestrian Team again won a gold medal for Dressage at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, further enhancing the national prestige of Korea. In addition, the Galleria Equestrian Team is endeavoring to develop equestrian events in Korea by organizing equestrian training programs, and other high profile activities.
